- They are very good at compliance, almost problematically so.
- The open enrollment and benefits renewal processes are excellent.

- The portal is often problematic: time-tracking has little to no flexibility; notifications on the dashboard never. go. away.; getting anything updated or implemented can take forever; and there are a lot of things in the payroll process that make absolutely no sense whatsoever (i.e. not being able to verify, even at an approximation, what the pay for an employee is on their final payroll after termination until the payroll has already been approved and processed.)
- Administrators are entirely unable to make adjustments to employees in the system without strict oversight by TriNet. It is rather absurd considering that there has to be some amount of shared responsibility there.
- TriNet reps told us what we wanted to hear in getting us to switch to their service. When we finally did switch, there was not nearly enough onboarding, and a few things that we were told would be possible were, in fact, not possible.

Overall the support is great but there are some areas we don't use because we have the service in-house
- state final pay compliance - we have employees in every state and it is nice to be able to rely on the fact that we are always compliant when people leave
- Leave administration - I love not having to manage employees leaves
- VOE - I love that we could give away VOE's. Simply scan and send to TriNet
- a better ATS - the current functionality is very limited. For an organization our size we more "power". I like to be able to run custom reports from the ATS as an example
- Reporting - there's a stack of standard reports but we need and want custom
- stop changing the layout. We don't care about the layout its the content that matters. get rid of the turtles or hippos or whatever they are
- Manager access. Let us give managers access to their employees info without having access to EVERYONE
- Be honest. If you cant do something, you cant do it. Let us know so we can make other plans and move on
- "I'll put a ticket in" = this is where your dreams go to fade away. See above

Great support for small HR teams
For a small non-profit, TriNet really is a great asset in providing not only the platform, but thought partnership around HR, compliance, and people management all around.

What feels missing is a more modern/clean user experience, tech forward integrations, and org culture supporting features that other HRIS and PEO's have. This has lead us to employing a second HRIS for our staff to utilize internally that has a more modern look and feel, more comprehensive hiring portal, org culture supporting elements like celebrations, and capabilities to store and send documents for signature.

TriNet - Price is relatively high for a PEO and service is good until you try to exit their PEO.
- Everything payroll/HR/and accounting needs on 1 platform.
- Dedicated account manager that you funnel all of your questions/cases/etc. through and not an endless team.
- Employee experience was great and all I had to do is give them TriNet's 800 number to call with their own questions or they could login to their account and use the chat feature.
- Follow up with clients post-exit about outstanding tax returns never filed, etc.
- PEOs don't allow for much flexibility in straying from their process but I felt TriNet had no exceptions to the rules which made it difficult for us to manage some employee situations under their processes.
- There were times when we had issues with our payroll processing and our account manager would forward our case to their own internal support division and sometimes I wouldn't hear back from them. I would have to call over and over to make sure our payroll was going to be processed but was left completely in the dark.

TriNet is great but needs a few tweaks

- I recently had an issue where an employee was terminated, then rehired. Upon entering payroll to pay for unpaid wages the employee was owed, the payroll seemed to go through properly. It was only after I was to finalize payroll that it was discovered this employee's hours were changed by TriNet without notifying me first. The payroll was finalized without me being able to address the issue in time. I had to contact customer service immediately. The issue was resolved, but notifying me of a change primary to this becoming an issue would have been ideal. It was stressful. We also had to pay an additional fee to make sure the employee was paid correctly
- I understand that the portal platform is being enhanced, but the "contacts" section on the website is hard to find. The layout of the portal platform is not attractive and it seems like you really need to hunt for what you're looking for.
- Customer service upon the first phone call is great, but once the initial problem is introduced, the individual that you spoke to through customer service will contact you again via email with a general email address. If I have to call again, I get another customer service rep who then has to track down the original rep in order to resolve the problem. Having a dedicated rep for a company used to be the norm. Now we are just handed off to anyone, then having to go through many reps just go find the original person who handled the situation in the first place. I would prefer a phone call back from the original person who worked on an issue or at least an email with their personal email address or phone extension. Again, regarding the payroll issue I had this week, I had to talk to a few different reps to make sure the issue was handled on time, and I was originally brought back to the first one I spoke with (via email). Phone calls would have been much more expedient, and TriNet seems to rely heavily on email. It felt pointless for me to continue calling because I would have had to describe the issue again to anyone that answered the call. This is very frustrating.
All Your HR Needs in 1 Place
- The app is user-friendly.
- They provided multiple trainings during Covid which was incredibly helpful when everyone was trying to figure out PPP.
- Their communication and response have gotten much faster.
- The build a report feature is still limited and doesn't provide as many options as I'd like.
- Their chat feature is good, but sometimes it takes so long to get to an actual person and past all the automatic robot questions.
